Thanks to hackers, I had to take the site down and totally redo it. They exploited a weakness in Simple Machines Forum and the bridge I used to couple it with Jooma, allowing them to creates thousands of bogus users. Fortunately, they didn't do anything to the site itself, but it's annoying that they consumed almost 2gb of bandwidth this month alone.
Annoying? Yes. It's for the best, however, since I've discovered better ways to do what I want with my site. Joomla continues to get better and better, as do the extensions available for it.
